Art is a very familiar place. The creative process was allowed and admired by the family environment.
The blank paper, the empty surface is a sacred space without rules or ethics. Thus a space of great exploration.
Growing up with this freedom, I witness great beauty and great supression.
I study art from a playfull perspective.
A great range of experimentations, material combinations, techniques different types of art. This is offten laborious.
The over all process ends up in a simplistic technique, considering the backstory.
Passing through the industry as a fashion and graphic designer, giving some teaching, been surly affected by.
I came out with a need to be cleansed and baptised into pure creativity. Wanting to satisfy a longing for sacred, enjoyful experimentation. Giving it the proper time, the right space. Without any practical reason. Just uknowleging this long tamed impulssion. Let it play.
Thus these works are a stage of just that.
I embrase the paradoxical aspect of life as true. I don’t fight it. I’m embodying that.
The map of a human face seems to bee the reference to the “known” in order to communicate or maybe ground this explorative act. A character. Many times can be the body of an animal.
The mistake is also a foundational aspect of my work. It acts as a gate of surprise and humility. It probably started as a way to beautify or hide my lack of knowledge and afterwards was accepted as an authentic expression. A technique. Thus the statement ” confident glampsyness ” is something really close to what is happening, until i understand something deeper on that. Or maybe not.
An interesting realisation in my work was when shades started to become a tangable aspect of life, with it’s own dimension. Not just a light phenomenon.
Greatly affected by comic art, graffity, engraving techniques, traditional orthodox drawing “agiographia”, several digital graphic effects, the fashion trends atmosphere, fabrics.
I’m a great admirer of craft in general. I greatly admire the way Japanese craftsmen work.
I offered a lot of time in realising reality and the dimensions of existance. Been in esoteric schools, through great ceremonial experiences, practices, co existances. Opened unspeakable aspects of life. This exploration has became lately, the study and practicing of healing. Which by the way, helped me trumenduslly to merge dimensions of life that they where known to me but disowned by the social suroundings. I’m blessed to live by that releaf. That, what i’m understanding is true and i don’t have to deny it anymore. Somehow art has given me that psychological space that became now a space of integration, a space of healing.
I want to comunicate that.
